A re-elected ACT Labor Government will continue to create jobs and invest in the infrastructure the growing Gungahlin community needs.
As part of our plan to support the Gungahlin community, ACT Labor will design and construct a new Gungahlin Community Centre in the town centre.
ACT Labor MLA for Yerrabi and Labor spokesperson for Community Facilities Suzanne Orr said that the centre would be co-designed with residents and will reflect the diverse views and needs of Canberra’s fastest growing community.
“Gungahlin is one of the fastest growing regions in the country, and a new community centre will be a great addition to our community”, Suzanne Orr said.
“We will continue to work with the community and community organisations in the Gungahlin region on what they would like to see from a new centre.
"This may include facilities for local performing arts groups, and low-cost office space for community service providers.
“Over the past four years, the ACT Labor Government has made significant investments in the town centre.
"This includes the delivery of light rail, the Gungahlin nurse-led walk-in centre and a new bus interchange.”
“The project will provide better services to the residents of the Gungahlin region, and create more jobs as part of our target of 250,000 local jobs by 2025.”
We want to keep working every day to protect the health and livelihoods of our community.
In these uncertain times, ACT Labor has the right plan to support Canberra and protect local jobs.
